To bring to life the young woman who captivates the two fishermen, Gabrielle Philiponet
presents a Leïla with a supple voice, characterized by exemplary focus and projection. The coloratura passages are vibrant, and the registers are perfectly unified. The soprano balances the lightness and power demanded by the role; indeed, her most famous aria draws nearly a minute of applause !
Olyrix - Florence Lethrugez
Gabrielle Philiponet embodies the priestess of Brahma—Leïla—both physically and vocally. In her portrayal, the woman in love quickly takes the upper hand, irresistibly
driving Leïla to break her vows of chastity. Her soprano voice is luminous and ethereal; her trilled vocal lines seem capable of reaching the moon. Her characterization evolves
convincingly—both dramatically and musically—shifting between poetic innocence and sacrificial fervor. She navigates the role’s various moments with authentic simplicity.
Opéra Magazine - Catherine Scholler
With her impeccable vocal agility and brilliant high notes, this radiant Leïla has everything it takes to captivate the audience!
