her rounded timbre supports a perfectly controlled vibrato; the fury she conveys in the
lower register is heart-wrenching. Dramatically, she impresses with the authenticity of the
emotions she portrays, despite their immense intensity. She fully inhabits the role without
ever overacting, and her performance in the opening scene alone lends credibility to the
situation and the world established by the production.
